Independence Day (Urdu: یوم آزادی‎; Yaum-e Āzādī), observed annually on 14 August, is a national holiday in Pakistan, commemorating the day when Pakistan achieved independence and was declared a sovereign nation, following the end of the British Raj in 1947. Pakistan came into existence as a result of the Pakistan Movement; the Pakistan Movement aimed for creation of an independent Muslim state by division of the north-western region of the South Asia and was led by the All-India Muslim League under the leadership of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The event was brought forth by the Indian Independence Act 1947 in which the British Imperial Government gave independence to the Dominion of Pakistan (later the Islamic Republic of Pakistan) which included West Pakistan (present Pakistan) and East Pakistan (now Bangladesh).

It is our homeland which came into existence on '14th August 1947 by the sacrifices of the Muslims of South Asia under the able guidance of our beloved  leader Quaid-e-Azam (let his soul rest in peace). It is hard earned  homeland as a sovereign Muslims country in which we are expected to live like true Muslims and to lead our life according to the motto of Quaid viz Unity, Faith and Discipline. The student should lead the disciplined life and attend whole heartedly to their studies and refrain from taking active part in politics. We should always remember the golden word of the famous advice of Quaid.

"Work, work and work is the need of the hour"

 These words were true when they are spoken. They are true for the present and will remain true for ever for the young and old men  and women and for all the classes of the Pakistani nation irrespective of cast, creed and provincial and lingual affiliations.

We have very close relationship with our homeland, closer than the relationship of a child to its mother. We are bounded to love our country. We should be true patriots and should be always prepared to sacrifices our personal interest for the nation interest, Youngsters should not resort to violence and in no case raise arms against the state or kill each other for political differences. We are the members of one big Millat, the Muslims Um-ma. Our Allah is one, Our Prophet is one and our Quran is one. We Are all brothers to each other. We are Muslims and we are Pakistanis and our slogan should be always "Pakistan Zindabad."

Cricket is my favourite game. I am a member of my school cricket team and have played many friendly one day matches with the cricket team of other schools. i am an all rounder but I like batting more than bowling. There is no play ground in our school hence we have no facility to have practice in the school premises. Only for playing matches we go far off public parks. Most of us play cricket on roads disturbing the normal traffic. Government and municipal Corporation have to build at least one play ground in every locality in which there should be a Football Ground a tennis/Badminton court, a hockey ground and a cricket pitch. We the students of big towns and cities of Pakistan need such playgrounds very badly. My team mates are talented players. I wish to become a player of  National Junior Cricket team, but it depends as to what facility I can have to practice.

Pakistan Cricket Team is one of the renowned cricket team of the world. Pakistan banks and custom department have their own teams, but colleges and schools have no funds to maintain their cricket teams and stadiums and hence from colleges and school no good cricket teams are coming in the front line to show their talents. Something has to be done by the welfare organizations, Municipal Corporations and committees and also the Education department to provide facilities of cricket, foot ball and hockey grounds to encourage the younger generation of our nation.
